HUMANCULTURE RELATIONSHIP AND INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP CONTEXT
Humanculture has worked in partnership with Malagasy communities in northern Madagascar since 2025.
Malagasy IPLC leadership participates in Humanculture’s governance structure through representation of a regional director and research assistant. Guidance is also provided through Malagasy elders and community spiritual leaders, including a Malagasy knowledge holder who preserves oral ancestral traditions and performs community blessing ceremonies known as Jôro.
These relationships lead the documentation and interpretation of Malagasy knowledge systems presented by Humanculture through the Indigenous Systems platform.
