Humanculture works closely with Maasai pastoral communities in northern Tanzania, particularly in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The documentation presented through the Indigenous Systems platform reflects specific knowledge practices observed within these Maasai communities.
HUMANCULTURE RELATIONSHIP AND INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP CONTEXT
Humanculture has worked in partnership with Maasai communities in northern Tanzania since 2018.
Maasai leadership participates in Humanculture’s governance structure through representation on the organization’s board. Guidance is also provided through formally elected local Maasai leadership, an elder council, and a women’s leadership council.
These relationships lead the documentation and interpretation of Maasai knowledge systems presented by Humanculture through the Indigenous Systems platform.
